Synposis: A compelling real life story of an unorthodox Jewish girl, Esther (Shira Haas), living in an orthodox Jewish family in Brooklyn who gets forced into an arranged marriage. She is uncomfortable with all the Hasidic religious traditions and customs, feels suffocated, and decides she wants to flee. Her music teacher helps Esther plan her escape from Brooklyn to Berlin. She chooses Berlin where her real mom resides but being abandoned by the mother at a young age, Esther decides not to contact her and find her own living space. She joins a music ensemble and starts to chart a new life for herself. In the meantime, her very conservative husband and a thuggish friend discover that she has fled to Berlin and fly out to bring her back. Solid acting by Shira Haas portraying the main character is the best part of the series. It does get a bit heavy at times in highlighting the orthodox Jewish faith but that is done for a reason, to show why Esther wants to escape. Only 4 episodes, so not a big investment involved in watching it.
