Cold war spy thriller series from the 80s. James Bond meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith in this soap opera style drama. Elizabeth and Philip Jennings (Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys) play secret KGB agents living a typical American family life, with 2 kids, in the Washington DC suburbs. Receiving orders from the Soviet high command, they are carried out with impunity by the two agents. Posing as travel agents, their children have no idea that their parents are spies, let alone Russian.
Soviet Union v America is center stage but we do get deep into the personal lives of Elizabeth and Philip, their convenient marriage and how they sometimes get epiphanies on what could have been had they not followed this path of danger, seduction and murder.
Outstanding show and having 6 seasons of it to gulp down makes it even better.
