Synopsis: A risque high school soapy teen “adult” drama of the richy rich children in Spain that centers around friendships, love, hate, sex, drugs, religion, blackmail and murder that is prevalent in “Las Encinas” – the elite school. Three students from lower class backgrounds (including one Muslim girl) have scholarships that allow them to attend this upper class institution and the mix of these two vastly different worlds creates the schisms and class warfare within the school. Cliques abound and groups form but when a student is found dead, it rocks the school. The first episode sets the stage with questioning students about the murder with flashbacks and by the end of it, we know who the victim is. What then ensues is a whodunit style plot which thickens and thickens until the killer is revealed and the story extends beyond that reveal. The show has a particular style that’s appealing and engaging. The characters grow on the viewer and each one has a central role to play and the acting is very believable. It’s not the atypical teen drama – it’s a mature version of it and definitely worth a watch. It can been seen in Spanish with subtitles or dubbed in English.
